FOOTBALL: Nigerians react to Sunday Oliseh's exit

Sunday Oliseh in the early hours of today, February 26, announced his resignation as head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

This development came as quite a surprise to many who took to popular social media platform Twitter to express their feelings.

Naij.com recalls that Sunday Oliseh, was unveiled in Abuja by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the new head Coach of the Super Eagles  in July 2015.

According to Amaju Pinnick, the president of the NFF, Oliseh was selected because of his high intellectual capacity in coaching and recommendations by FIFA.

However, just eight months into the Super Eagles job, Oliseh has announced he has stepped down as coach of the side, citing unpaid salaries, lack of cooperation, among other factors, as factors responsible for his action.

This move by a man who was dubbed as “Africa’s Guardiola” by his employers has got Nigeria twitter buzzing.

Sunday Oliseh chickened out. It was obvious he lacked the qualities to lead the Eagles to greatness. Just go back to punditry.
