Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, cancelled the contract for the redevelopment of the Falomo Shopping Centre awarded by his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola to Afriland Properties.

Ambode explained, via a statement released by media aide, Habib Aruna that the contract was cancelled because it was grossly detrimental to the interests of the people of the state.

Aruna said further that Afriland Properties only paid only N50million for a 50-year lease of the property belonging to the government.

I am itching to read that Falomo complex concession agreement. These kinds of things should be included in case studies.
I'm rooting for Governor Ambode to succeed. But if he's wrong on this Falomo issue, I'd be very disappointed.
If N50 million was paid for 50-year lease of Falomo Shopping Mall in Ikoyi, that is N1 million/year. Very fraudulent!

I'm mad curious as to why only N50m was paid for a 50-year lease for Falomo Shopping Center. Something stinks to high heaven.
My attention has been drawn to the fact that Fashola sold Falomo Mall to his cronies for an amount less the value of a 5 Bedroom duplex.
