Nigerians react to governor’s cancellation of Falomo Shopping Centre contract

Ambode explained, via a statement released by media aide, Habib Aruna that the contract was cancelled because it was grossly detrimental to the interests of the people of the state.

 Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, cancelled the contract for the redevelopment of the Falomo Shopping Centre awarded by his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola to Afriland Properties.

Ambode explained, via a statement released by media aide, Habib Aruna that the contract was cancelled because it was grossly detrimental to the interests of the people of the state.

Aruna said further that Afriland Properties only paid only N50million for a 50-year lease of the property belonging to the government.

Anyway, there are lots of unanswered questions. For example, how is the Falomo Mall project different from Ikeja City Mall?
