NEWS: Scammers Clone EFCC Chariman's Facebook Account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has alerted the general public of the intention of some scammers to fleece unsuspecting persons through fake facebook accounts cloned in the name of the acting chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu.

The unscrupulous elements  via these fake pages: https://www.facebook.com/ibrahimmustafa.magu and https://www.facebook.com/magu.ibrahim.77 solicits for gratification in the name of the acting EFCC boss.

The anti-graft agency disowned the accounts and warned the public to reject any request for friendship and other demands.

According to Leadership, the commission also alerted the public of some telephone calls by persons claiming to be acting on behalf of the acting chairman.


Such calls and persons should be reported to the EFCC or the nearest police station.

To carry out its statutory duties, EFCC reiterated that it does not solicit money or gratification.

Hence, the commission asked the public to report such fake gestures, be vigilant and help in unmasking the scammers who are bent of denting the image of the acting chairman.
